Difficulties With Prayer.

A number of people find it rather difficult to speak to God. In other words they find praying extremely difficult, they just don't know how to go about praying. They just can't do IT, so they put aside all thoughts of praying.

Sound familiar? ...... then read on.

Nobody should ever imply that it's your fault for finding prayer difficult, or that they that find it hard to believe you cannot pray. If anyone has ever said that to you, please know they need to get down on their knees and ask God for forgiveness.;   If they have failed to do so, God WILL deal with them in His own time.
Anyway, if you have difficulty in praying perhaps you have never been taught a method of praying. Perhaps you are just starting your venture into a prayerful lifestyle. Perhaps you have never been involved with a prayer group or socialised with people who rely heavily on prayer to help them through life with the help of God. Perhaps you are a long standing Christian who has diffulty with prayer. Whatever the reason praying, you find, is difficult.

First of all, don't be embarrassed about the situation, and whatever you do don't feel guilty.
So what's the solution you ask yourself?   Well, to put it simply, if you can think, then you are capable of praying. If you can write, then you can pray. If you can use a phone, then you can pray.
Truly, if you approach prayer with those thoughts in mind you will discover that your prayer life can begin with ease.

Let me explain...
If you can say just four short words in your mind or verbally, you have begun your prayer life.
In your mind's eye, visualize God as you understand Him and at the same time offering up a little four word prayer and you have made contact with God. That's it, you've said your first prayer simply by saying in your mind, for instance,
"I need you God"

That's how easy it is for you, who finds praying difficult, to begin your prayer life, and if you continue praying faithfully day by day you will discover that your contact, via prayer, to God becomes easier, rewarding and a very joyful experience.
The next step is as easy as the first step, all you need to do is slowly build up your contact with God by adding just one word, if necessary, at a time. Example... "I need you God please"
This is really extremely basic examples of beginners prayers, but you get the idea.

Personal prayer is best done in the privacy of your own home of course, in your own personal prayer place, perhaps you may choose the quietness of your bedroom. However, praying can be done at any time, no matter where or when. We can't be for ever running home to get down on our knees every time we need to pray. Not at all; We can pray as we walk to work, to school, or college, we can even pray whilst sitting on the loo if the need arises. We can pray sitting on the bus, the train, anywhere at all and nobody will be aware we are praying due to our ability to pray in silence. Not one person will look at us and become aware we are praying. Nobody can tell we're praying due to the fact we're praying within our minds.
Also, we have a 24 hour guaranteed instant access, no busy line, top quality, no charge contact service direct to God. Which means if you were to witness a car crash, for example, which resulted in possible injuries to the occupants of the vehicles involved, you can quickly offer up a prayer to God requesting His intervention in the matter.

Another piece of information is that you can also write your prayers in a notepad and read your prayers to God. It's not the ideal but, it can be helpful and it would be acceptable to God until you build up your confidence in praying.

One final thing, God would far rather hear, or see, if it's a written prayer, a short heart-felt sincere prayer than listen to a long winded repetitive prayer full of, well, wind!!!

Good luck with your prayer life.

Billy.
