A Powerful Prayer.

One of the most powerful prayers I know and have used myself for years is actually a very simple prayer, yet it may be one of the hardest prayers to put into action.

Let me share that prayer with you.....

You are going through a really sore trial, (or any trial for that matter) but as a good example I'm concentrating on the type of trial that has your back forced so hard against the wall that the wallpaper has left its patterned design imprinted on your skin.

Now what do you do?

You humbly and sincerely ask God "only" for the strength to endure the trial you are experiencing.

Ask nothing else; no pleading, no asking for a speedy end to the trial, or a result you would prefer that would be pleasing and beneficial to you.

No, none of the above; You ask God "only" to give you the "strength" to endure the trial you are going through. Then, take a step back and allow Him to get on with the job of finding the best solution for you.

But listen, I don't mean you should step back, sit down with a drink in your hand, and rest your feet on the coffee table expecting God to get on with it while you sit there relaxing and watching the television. No; you still have to work to your pay as normal but, with the profound knowledge that God is doing His bit on your behalf.

However, should an opportunity arise (not looked for) arise, that could, without doubt help the situation, then it's best to grasp that opportunity.
Tell you why, for all you know it could be God presenting you with part of the solution. However, if it's not part of the solution there's no real harm done, and, you would have shown God your willingness to make an effort and become involved yourself, thus not leaving the entire situation to God.

So, if you can work all that out in your head and manage to sum up the courage to offer that short prayer to God when going through a trial (and we all do go through trials), the outcome will astound you and leave you scratching your head in awe, and at the same time praising our loving heavenly Father.

Billy.
